It’s the last day of 2024 and I thought I must share with all readers of my blog, the new brand identity I have created for Peripatetic Perch, even though I am not a designer or art director.
As my blog goes into its seventh year in 2025, my new blog logo features a new Owlady that I created on the Canva App meant for non-designers. You can read all about the long journey my blog’s brand identity has taken over the past six years in the little document below.
It’s not merely the blog’s logo, though, that has changed and grown over the years. I have tried to keep the content of my blog fresh and varied, while growing all the while in depth and width on issues concerning business, the economy, politics and culture.
In addition to my own blog posts, here’s what else I have shared with you all. In the first year, I shared writers’ quotes on books and reading. In 2019-2020, I added Writings on the Wall, which was about my observations on travel and exploring different cultures. In 2020, the first year of the terrible Covid pandemic, I started my Owl Wisdom Podcasts and continued them through the year. 2020 was also the year I shared Owl About Words, a monthly post based on a delightful guide to words written by British journalist, Ivor Brown called Just Another Word.
As 2021 arrived, I started writing and sharing my observations of the Covid pandemic, inspired by stories from Ovid’s Metamorphoses, called Ovid in the Time of Covid. In October of 2021, I began my Owleye column – a monthly post on the most important issue of the month that is receiving media attention, and I continue to write them to this day. Then, of course, I write about books and culture on the Whistle Library page on my blog.
All this, in addition to what I write about most regularly, which is business and brands as well as the economy, both in India as well as overseas. My blog content is deliberately peripatetic in order for me to bring you a wise-eyed view of the world every month, year after year.
In the New Year, 2025, I intend writing more on business and brands as these are at the core of my long professional career in the advertising industry in India and what I know best. However, you will always find that even my writings on business and brands are connected with the economy and with policy matters.
Here’s wishing you all a very Happy New Year – one full of ideas, innovations and inspiration, I hope, in the 25th year of the 21st century which my blog is celebrating through 2025.
