Owl About Words: Glimmer of Hope

These days, there is a lot of hope being pinned on the new vaccines that are being produced around the world. And there is finally a glimmer of hope in this long Covid-19 pandemic that has ravaged the world.

The word that I have chosen for this month from Ivor Brown’s book, Just Another Word, is glimmer. Fortunately, this is one word that hasn’t changed much in its usage through the ages, nor does it vary with the context. Glimmer is always just glimmer.

How reassuring to know that as we go into the holidays and then into 2021!

Hope we all have a glimmering festive season and new year to look forward to. Happy and safe holidays to all!
